Christmas Community Project
Children's Hospital Toys for Courage

With the help of families, school friends and church families, The HOSA State Officers collected over $250.00 to purchase toys for children that spent the holidays in the hospital. Besides the fact that they helped others that were not able to be home for Christmas, they worked together and learned the act of giving to others.

BELIEVE- To Believe is to envision a dream and take action to accomplish that dream. In the HOSA Creed, every sentence begins with “I Believe. . .”  Believing Is the first step to every action and HOSA as an organization teaches students to believe in themselves, those around them and most important the future to healthcare.

PEACEFUL- HOSA is an organization that guides students on to a peaceful path to a healthcare career. As officers of this organization we band together “Peacefully” to create ideas on how to improve HOSA. Our words for this year is- TEAM*LEAD*SUCCEED and that is what we plan to do.

BELIEVE- Being a part of HOSA is about learning and leading. We, as State Officers, want to help our members as they strive to reach their goals, and lead them on to success. How do we fulfill this commitment? By simply believing to be a great leader, you first have to believe YOU can succeed. Believe in the future of health care, believe you can achieve your goals and most of all blieive you can make a Difference.

WISH- I think HOSA is about a wish. We all have our own wishes/visions of what we want to accomplish while we are here; whether it’s creating opportunities for members, more members, and more knowledge to students of what this organization is about and how it will benefit our futures.

JOY- Having JOY in your life is important, but Joy should be in EVERY Part of your life. What I feel I bring to HOSA not only as an officer, but as a member is positive energy, trust, courage and a vision. I feel Joy can bring people together and make opportunities for everyone and their visions.

JOY- I am joyful today because I have an ambitious and optimistic vision for my part in HOSA.  I have learned that compassion will help guide you in times of doubts and hardships.  I have learned that no team will succeed unless they share the knowledge and Joy in their organization. IF you have love, Triumph and joy in something that you believe in you will work harder for it and reach your goals.

FAITH- Faith is a key concept in the HOSA Organization. In order for our team to succeed, we need to lean on and count on one another. As leaders, we need to communicate our individual visions for HOSA to the entire group and this will help us grow in our faith of healthcare and to accomplish our goals.  As HOSA leaders, we must be faithful and committed to our positions and jobs that must be carried out. IT will bring positive attention and recognition, more people will be aware and impressed by our organization.

BELIEVE- As a HOSA Leader our goal is to dream and achieve for success using our courage to believe in ourselves. Communicate to our deepest, most innermost character and find the strength to put into action what we believe we can do for HOSA. Every detail is key in HOSA, most importantly our future in a healthcare field. If we believe we can do it nothing can stand in our way.

WISHES-Wishes? We all know what they are because we’ve all had wishes. I wish for a car, I wish for a new toy or I wish I were someone else. But to HOSA officers we all need to put aside the “I wishes” that are selfish and start wishing for the things that matter to the organization. When HOSA state Officers wish for something, we’re going to give it our all to make it reality.

BELIEVE- A leader is a person with courage, humility, purpose, and most importantly, a vision. However, anyone can have all these qualities and still be a terrible Leader. To be an excellent leader, you must believe in what you do and what you stand for. All HOSA leaders have displayed that they are passionate about their organization and they believe that they can achieve the goals they set. I believe that when our work in done, everyone will look at what we have done and day- “Can you Believe that?”
